While I loved the highs and mids, the low end did leave a little to be desired, but for a headset, I don't need heavy bass in my ear. In comparison to other headsets that I've listened to with comparable range, I found the clarity of the Gamers' Choice to be superior on the high and mid range sounds, using a wide range of audio to test out just how clean and crisp the sound is. The specifications of the Gamers' Choice headset offers a nice range for the frequency response that starts at 20Hz and ending at 20 kHz.
The final adapter is for those who have to deal with the dreaded 2.5mm plug-in, which covers the final port necessary for all connections possible. However, a USB attachment is also included in this package that allows for a simply plug-and-play with onboard drivers that make setup as easy as it gets. The connector has both the standard green and pink audio ports that will cover both the input and output directly, which are easy enough to use for a laptop or the front of a PC. The second attachment is truly meant for the PC gamer, and that is a detachable and fully adjustable microphone with a couple of different options to connect. This attachment is ideal for keeping the sound private and for your ears only, whether it be on the PC, a handheld gaming system such as a Nintendo DS, PSP, or Vita, or even just on your personal smartphone for mobile gaming. Two primary attachments and two adapters come packaged with the headset, including a standard hookup with direct volume control on the cord. The Gamers' Choice comes with a couple of options for easy installation no matter where a gamer is at and what his or her needs are. Now, with the Gamers' Choice headphones, PC gamers all over can enjoy quality sound at an affordable price. It has always been suggested that the need to push for the most expensive piece of equipment, whether it be a keyboard, mouse, or headset, is paramount to ensuring the best possible experience. So I don’t recommend the Beexcellent GM-20 Gaming Headset due to this issue and even though the Amazon product page had mostly high ratings, the product was unavailable to purchase from Amazon at the time of this review so maybe they pulled the product line.In the world of PC gaming, accessories can make or break everything about the a setup. As the product was provided to me it wasn’t just something I could return and order another replacement and get my money back. I gave the brand an option to send me a replacement unit which they chose not to do. Here were some pictures I took of me testing the headset, which was all around in the mediocre range and would have probably been a decent budget gaming headset if not for the mic problem. Combine that with the headband being plastic and easy to potentially crack, I can say skip these type of headbands and go for the headsets that have the leather strap adjusting headband with the plastic poles above it for a dual headband for comfort and support. Even if the mic was working fine, I don’t like the rubberized mic wand which never stayed where you tried to bend it and just wasn’t really high quality.
I didn’t check the mic until after I did all audio and sound checking so was disappointed in the mic in every way. Note the headset portion of the GM-20 worked fine, and sounded fair with everything from PC gaming, Console gaming and mobile gaming. Here is the video showcasing the mic fail on the Beexcellent GM-20 Gaming Headset I will say however that having mic problems on headsets is not uncommon in the lower end price point of headsets and many have complained about the mic not working on the Kotion Each G2000 and other Kotion Each as well as some Sades headsets, so make sure you keep your receipts and known your return policy on anything you purchase, especially if it is a low cost product including gaming headsets that are cheap. Normally I can get through a complete product review to give my honest opinion on whether a product meets my expections or when it doesn’t, but in this product case the product didn’t survive to even complete a review so this is a buyer beware for the Beexcellent GM-20 Gaming Headset.
